2021 at United Ideas has been eventful
It’s been quite a year. For many of us, 2021 was another long twelve months of covid-related stress. Some United Ideas team members or their close ones ended up in hospital. The virus did not spare us despite all the precautions we took (we are 100% remote at the moment), and we can only wish for good health for all those who were affected. But 2021 wasn’t all bad, and in this post, we’d like to focus on the positives.
The planned change in strategy we applied to face the pandemic was successful. We shifted to a different client profile and adjusted our services accordingly. Instead of working to lose as little as possible, we focused on winning as many opportunities as we could. The results speak for themselves: our team tripled in size, and our revenue is five times what it used to be.
We also branched out and increased our international presence. Edyta, our Managing Director, and Łukasz, our CEO, were traveling for a total of about three months. They visited Switzerland, Dubai, and the USA. This experience gave us new opportunities and insights, allowed us to meet amazing people, and resulted in new projects.
A big theme for the year was our focus on people. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our whole team for believing in United Ideas and working hard to achieve our common goals. Our outstanding success would not have been possible without the entire team’s involvement. We’re also incredibly grateful to our clients for trusting us with their business. We hope to continue meeting their expectations in the coming year. And finally, a special thanks to Claudio from Mooris – it was great to see you during our visit, and we hope to repeat the experience soon!
New project: AnyRobot
In February 2021, we launched an exciting new project. AnyRobot is an answer to the rising need of businesses across industries to automate their processes. Particularly during the pandemic, many organizations depend on their ability to optimize their operations to survive. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a fantastic way to achieve this goal.
In less than a year, we’ve managed to begin work for seven large organizations. AnyRobot grew quickly – it’s already independent enough that we plan to formally make it a separate company. AnyRobot also received the Polish Innovation Award 2021.
Events in Poland
We participated in several major Polish events this year, including Internet Beta, the 8th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship, and the 8th International Family Business Congress. We participated in a discussion panel, and then ran our own. Overall, it was a very positive experience that allowed us to meet incredible people.
We’ve been working with DSK for a long time. This year, we decided to launch a project together. We created AnyLawyer, an AI-powered tool for checking the integrity of NDAs (non-disclosure agreements). The project is in the testing phase, and will enter closed beta at the beginning of January 2022. Stay tuned for more information in the near future.
Team integration trip
Team building is important, especially when we all work from home most of the time and rarely see each other. During a lull in the pandemic, we organized a trip to Cracow for our team – and we had a blast! We visited the Kraków Arcade Museum, enjoyed a celebratory dinner with cake for dessert, then spent an entire day at Energylandia. It was great to spend so much time together. We can’t wait for the next team bonding trip! But we will wait until it’s safe to organize one.
Gitex in Dubai
As the Gitex conference was held in Dubai, we took our first trip to the Near East. It was an incredible opportunity to learn about a new business perspective. We even met with members of the Oman government. Although there are cultural differences between us and the Near East, we had an amazing time and would love to visit again soon.
A lot of traveling
Aside from visiting Dubai, we also traveled to Switzerland, which is our largest market in Europe, and held a workshop with clients. In November, we flew to the USA, visiting Silicon Valley and making connections with great people. We’re preparing for closer cooperation with the US, and this trip was a part of this preparation.
On December 3rd, we learned that we’ve been recognized among the Clutch 1000, representing the top 1% of companies on the platform. How were we chosen? Clutch uses a number of criteria when they make the selection. They look at Clutch reviews, the clients a company works with, experience in provided services and brand reputation, among other factors. As Clutch is the leading ratings platform for the IT industry and business service providers, we’re honored to have been ranked among some of the world’s most ambitious and resilient companies.
Celebrating the holidays
Even for a dispersed team, the holiday season has to be honored. Each team member received a package with a wonderful gift, as well as handwritten well-wishes. On the 22nd of December, we held an online Christmas meeting, listening to seasonal music and enjoying each other’s company. We hope to meet in person next year.
We’re evolving into a new brand
To match the speed and direction of our growth, we’ve decided to change our brand identity. We’ve shown glimpses of this in previous articles, and we’ll be ready to talk about it in detail in early 2022. For now, we can say that the new brand will match our change in strategy. We think of it as a relaunch of the company in a new, improved form. Stay tuned for new announcements on the subject.
A heartfelt thank you
2021 was a challenging year, but it was also one of growth for United Ideas. We faced rapid changes, and had to put in a lot of hard work to keep up. Once again, we’re incredibly grateful to our clients and team for helping us get to where we are today. We take your trust seriously and will continue to do our best to meet and exceed your expectations. We wish you all a Happy New Year, full of opportunities and growth. We’re glad we’ll be embarking into the unknown that is 2022 together.
